The Palmerston North Social Wellbeing Forum (SWF) has been held regularly since 2007, run in partnership between Te Pū Harakeke and the Palmerston North City Council. The SWF aims to identify and discuss the issues that are top of mind for the community sector, kaimahi hapori (community workers), and the communities we work with.
Today, the SWF is held every second year, and involves a significant research project in the lead up to the forum itself, with a major survey of community sector workers and research interviews with a cross-section of community organisations. The learnings from the research and from the discussions at the SWF are collected into a report.
The next Social Wellbeing Forum will be held in 2026. Date and location TBC.
